Turkey Day, Thanksgiving

Happy thanksgiving day with autumn leaves. Hand drawn text lettering. Vector illustration. Script. Calligraphic design for print greetings card, shirt, banner, poster. Colorful fall

Today is a day when we are supposed to be thankful for what we have.  I usually spend part of the day reflecting on the last year, and what it’s brought me.

This year has been interesting.  Between the break up with the girl I dated for 7 years, and the merger of my business into a new business, with a real opportunity, and the rest of the events of the year, this one has been fun, and a roller coaster.

I’m grateful that this year I got to see the daughter that many of you know “should have been mine”.  If you know me, you know that reference.  She’s awesome.

I’m grateful for the clients and friends that invited me to their places to spend the holiday with them.  I appreciate the fact that I had 7 invites into people’s homes for the holiday.  I’m bummed that I’m missing all of that awesome food, from Turkey to Ham, and all of the side dishes.  Bummed.  Plus tomorrow is the only day that I eat leftovers, 1 turkey sandwich the day after.  I might just have to break down and go to Claim Jumper for a turkey dinner.

I decided that because I’m sick, I think I have strep throat, I should stay away from everyone.  I’m spending the Turkey Day the way most of America is, watching football, except alone.  Today is the one day this year, that I know my phone will not ring.  I can not tell you the last time on a Thursday that my phone had only rang 2 times by 12:21PM, the time of this writing.

I’m grateful for the freedom to make choices.

To the people that I should have called today, my voice is basically gone.  It hurts to talk, so I’m opting to instead send text messages, and hope that you read this blog entry.

Here’s to another year,

Toby
